Jared Lee

Mr. Jared Lee has served in education in various roles. Starting his career in the Spring Independent School District as a Math and Science teacher at Link Elementary School. During his time as a teacher, Mr. Lee was able to participate in numerous leadership programs (LeadSpring Cohort I, Aspiring Principals Boot Camp, and Spring ISD Grow Your Own), lead various grade-levels as the team leader, and as a content lead. His early work bridged a path to Meyer Elementary as the Campus Academic Specialist, in which he helped lead the charge to raise the school’s accountability rating from a D to a projected B. Mr. Lee then moved to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex to serve in the Keller Independent School District community as a middle school assistant principal at Trinity Springs Middle School. While in Keller, Mr. Lee helped Trinity Springs propel in the accountability ratings from a B to an A campus. After his time in Keller ISD, Mr. Lee was led back to the Spring ISD to serve as an Assistant Principal at the School for International Studies at Bammel. Following the semester, Mr. Lee then served as the Summer School Principal at SISB. Most recently, Mr. Lee was named the associate principal at SISB and is eager to see transformational growth for every person that steps on the campus. Mr. Lee has one son, Lazarus who is nine years old. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. When Mr. Lee is not working with scholars, teachers, and staff, he is spending time with family and friends. 

Samantha Mullens

Mrs. Samantha Mullens, Associate Principal

This year marks the 22nd year in education for Mrs. Samantha Mullens. She served in various leadership roles in Klein ISD, as a counselor and assistant principal at Klein Forest High School. She ventured to Fort Bend ISD as a Dean and an Associate Principal at Elkins High School. She received her first principalship at Mance Park Middle School in Huntsville ISD. In Hempstead ISD she served as a principal at the elementary and high school campus. Before she became a Patriot she culminated her years of experience in Hempstead as a Director of Federal and Special Programs. She and her husband are proud parents of five boys and one daughter.

Shalonda Collins

Ms. Shalonda Collins, Assistant Principal, 6th Grade

Ms. Shalonda Collins serves as the Assistant Principal at The School for International Studies at Bammel. She previously served as the Math Department Chair and 8th Grade Teacher in Fort Bend ISD at Hodges Bend Middle School. She has 10 years of educational experience serving in capacities such as High School Math Academic Specialist, Algebra 1 Teacher, Middle School Math Strategies Teacher, 8th-grade Teacher, Math Coach, and Girls Athletic Coach (Basketball, Volleyball, Dance, and Track & Field). This is her debut administrative year in Spring ISD. She is looking forward to serving all stakeholders (students, staff, and community) to ensure the school year is successful!

Ms. Collins first entered education in Houston ISD, at Worthing High School, and has served in Humble ISD and Fort Bend ISD before arriving at Spring ISD. She holds her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Southern University, where she majored in Criminal Justice, and her Master’s degree from Lamar University for Educational Leadership. She enjoys encouraging and mentoring the youth as they prepare for adult life and post-secondary education.

Karol Gillum

Ms. Karol Gillum serves as an Assistant Principal at The School of International Studies at Bammel. A product of Spring ISD, Ms. Gillum is blessed and honored to serve at the middle school she attended so many years ago. She began her educational career 17 years ago as a 9th Grade Science teacher at Westfield 9th Grade Center the high school she graduated from. Over the years she has served as an instructional leader in various capacities in Spring ISD having the privilege to educate many students and coach and develop many teachers and campus leaders.

Ms. Gillum truly believes all students can learn at high levels when given the opportunity. Her educational philosophy encompasses a belief that it's the job of instructional leaders to meet students where they are and move them to where they need and want to go. To do this it is essential to be equitable and give access to all students no matter what.

While a proud graduate of Spring ISD Ms. Gillum is also a very proud Alumni of Baylor University (Sic'em Bears) and Houston Baptist University.

Regina Smith

Ms. Regina Smith, Assistant Principal, 7th Grade

Ms. Regina Smith serves as an Assistant Principal at The School of International Studies. Ms. Smith is a proud alumna of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee Florida. She has a masters degree in English Literature from Nova Southeastern University and Principal Leadership certification from UTA Arlington.   Ms. Smith started her career in Leon and Duval counties as an ELAR teacher and RTI safety net facilitator.

After several years of service in Florida, she moved to the DFW metroplex.  In Fort Worth ISD, she served as an ELAR Department Chair, Team Leader, ESL Lead, and as an MTSS/RTI Specialist.  Throughout her career, she has spearheaded corporate donations and grants for college exposure to underserved areas, facilitated community partnerships via the GEAR-UP grant, organized housing and necessities collections for homeless stakeholders, and participated on campus and district AVID site team committees.  

Ms. Smith believes in the Rita Pierson philosophy, “Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”  The cornerstones of her leadership are:  purpose, connection, and consistency in all areas.

During breaks you can find Ms. Smith in her home state of Florida visiting with family or anywhere in the world as she is an avid traveler. Ms. Smith also enjoys reading and writing in her spare time and is working on publishing her second children’s book.
